El Patito Towels was founded in 2017 by Melis and Burcu, two Turkish women, based in Vienna, who share the same ambition for fine things in life. We wanted to give a contemporary touch to our grandmothers' traditional Turkish towels, also known as Peshtemal or Hamam towels, famous for their high quality and cozyness. We decided to raise the bar and make sure our products are made with only the finest organic cotton caringly handcrafted in manually operated looms by artisans in the Western part of Turkey. Hence, El Patito Towels was born and found life in beautiful city of Vienna. We carefully select and hand pick all of our products, adding final touches with handmade glass evil eye beads and organic ropes. All have a unique local design and patterns inspired by our hometown and Vienna which gives it’s contemporary look and feel of a bohemian style. We design the patterns and the colors in Vienna and our production partner is based in Turkey. Both our Turkish Towels and Bathrobes have different looming designs which changes the weight of each towel due to amount of rope used. The peshtemal absorbs water as fast as a traditional towel, dries very quickly, takes up less space, is easy to carry and is therefore used as an alternative to the towel in bathrooms, pools, spas, beaches, sport facilities, baby or pet care, as well as a beautiful home decoration. They can be used for various occasions such as bachelorette, housewarming, baby shower, anniversaries, birthdays, special days or holidays. Limit is your imagination. Last, but not least, all our products come in a 100% recycled packaging.
